Home Decorating Contest Returns To Rosemont

Residents of Rosemont, get your decorations ready.

The annual home holiday decoration competition is set to be better than ever as cash prizes are at stake for anyone who thinks they have the most creative, colorful decorations in Rosemont.

Rosemont Public Works told the Journal that two judges will be out on Monday, Dec. 19 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Public works also reminded residents that the upcoming week will be warmer to decorate.

According to public works, judges are looking for something unique. Previous years winners will most likely not repeat with respect to other homes, public works told the Journal.

Decorations are also not allowed to be done by professionals, as they need to be done by the homeowners themselves.

Prizes for the winners consist of a first place monetary award of $300, second place $200, and third place $100. Condos and apartment awards for best decorations will receive $50.
